Rental Car — Full Terms
The complete rental agreement, translated for your reference. The Japanese text is the binding original.
Rental agreement
Please refuel at a gas station within 10 minutes of the return location (see the pink file in the car).
Smoking is not allowed inside the car, including heated-tobacco products. If cigarette butts or smell remain, a ¥50,000 cleaning fee will be charged even after return.
If you cannot return within the contracted time, you must contact the rental shop. Extension may not be possible depending on reservations.
Business hours are 9:00–18:00. Drop-off transfers to the airport / your accommodation run until 17:45. Please check for belongings on return (we do not contact you about lost items) and take your trash with you.
Included coverage is shown in ★1 below.
Per one rental / one accident: the injury & property deductible is ¥50,000–¥100,000. With NOC cover you pay ¥0; without NOC cover you pay ¥50,000 (¥100,000 for vehicles marked ※1) if drivable, or ¥100,000 (¥200,000 for ※1) if not drivable — total ¥50,000–¥200,000. ※1 Alphard, Hiace, imported cars, open cars. ※2 Even if returned drivable, ¥100,000 may apply for serious accidents. ※3 Self-inflicted and single-vehicle accidents are fully the customer's responsibility.

Help anyone injured and call emergency services / the police. From the scene, also contact the insurer and us.
Unless specified, a child seat is fitted behind the front passenger seat in the 2nd row; please move it yourself if needed. We cannot accept complaints regarding the car navigation.
We cannot compensate for damage or loss of your belongings. Driving by anyone who did not present a licence at pickup is not allowed and voids all cover. Parking violations must be handled and paid by the customer (we check receipts on return); if unresolved, a ¥50,000 charge applies.

★2 CDW & NOC cover
If you join this cover, in the event of an accident your liability for property and vehicle damage is limited to the deductible only — not the full self-borne amount. Enrolment is at pickup only and cannot be cancelled mid-rental.
NOC is the shop's compensation for the days the car cannot be rented out while it is being repaired after an accident or damage — i.e. cover for that lost business. Like CDW, it cannot be joined or cancelled after departure. NOC is a separate scheme from CDW.
★3 What is not covered
If an accident happens under any of the following, the loss is fully the customer's responsibility and the cover does not apply:
- •No accident report filed with BOTH the police and the shop (no police accident processing).
- •Accident while driven by someone not on the contract / who did not present a licence.
- •Accident outside the rental period.
- •Drink-driving or unlicensed driving.
- •Settling with the other party without our consent.
- •Malicious or intentional accidents (distracted driving, phone use, exceeding capacity, etc.).
- •Vehicle damage caused by theft.
- •Driving off maintained roads (beaches, riverbeds, forests, etc.).
- •Damage or corrosion from poor use.
- •Damage from a collision with a vehicle you own / manage / use.
- •Damage from inadequate vehicle care.
- •Vehicle damage from natural disasters such as typhoons.
- •Damaged tyres: new tyre + labour (incl. lost wheel caps) are the customer's cost; a damaged wheel voids NOC cover; tyres are replaced with equivalents.
- •Lost keys or water submersion.
- •Battery jump-start / recharge costs.
- •Any other breach of the rental terms.
